CAT AGILITY TOURNAMENT AND ALLBREED CAT SHOW COMING TO SACRAMENTO
Galt, California (December 15, 2003) - Jazzy Cats announces their upcoming
Allbreed Cat Show to be held at the Red Lion Sacramento Inn, 1401 Arden
Way in Sacramento on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 2nd-4th, 2004.
This show is licensed by The International Cat Association (TICA) and
will feature fifteen judging rings over three days for all competitive
cat entries. Additionally, the show will feature the country's fourth
cat agility tournament since the event was launched in October 2003 in
Albuquerque, New Mexico and will host the first cat agility tournament
in 2004.
The cat agility tournament is designed to showcase the speed, coordination,
physical conditioning, intelligence and beauty of movement of cats along
with their strong bond of trust with their owners. There are three levels
of competition: Basic, Challenger and Advanced. All healthy cats entered
in the show are eligible to compete in the agility tournament. There are
28 Cat Agility Tournaments scheduled in 2003-2004. For more information,
please visit www.catagility.com.
The Jazzy Cats cat show will have over 250 cats, both pedigreed and household pets, from all over North American and Europe who will compete at the show, including many cats belonging to new exhibitors in the Sacramento area. Pedigreed cats will include the Abyssinian, Siamese, Maine Coon, Persian and Pixie Bob as well as our more exotic breeds such as the Japanese Bobtail, Devon Rex and Oriental Shorthairs. The unusual breed featured in two of the Austin Powers' films - the Sphynx, will be present at our show
Household pet (i.e. non-pedigreed) cats and kittens are also welcome to enter the show and compete amongst each other for points and rosettes. They must be four months old to be entered in the competition. Adult household pets which are eight months of age or older must be neutered or spayed to qualify for adult competition. Household pets are judged on their health, appearance, condition, grooming and "purrsonality".
Show hours are from 3 pm to 9 pm on Friday, from 10 am
to 5 pm on Saturday and from 9 am to 4 pm on Sunday (January 2-4, 2004).
Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and children (six years and
under are free).
